ARTOS INTRODUCES CS-327 LARGE CABLE WIRE PROCESSOR
WAUKESHA, WIS. (December 9, 2005)

Artos Engineering Company, a Waukesha-based manufacturer of wire processing equipment, introduces the CS-327 Large Cable Wire Processor. This next generation heavy-duty processor combines the capabilities of the company’s former CS-23 and CS-27 processors into one robust, servo-driven unit. The only one of its kind available on the market today able to process such a wide range of larger wires, the CS-327 has been specifically engineered to operate with maximum speed and productivity.

The CS-327 can be used to process large cable applications such as battery and welding cables, appliance power cables and multi-conductor cables used for signal and power. It has been engineered to process wires over 100 mm2 (0000 AWG) in size, and up to 30mm (1.18 inch) in diameter.

Several standard features make the CS-327 an ideal solution for companies looking to increase productivity while reducing labor and maintenance costs. Its servo-driven, dual blade cutterhead is fully programmable, making it easy to accommodate a variety of stripping lengths and wire conductor sizes. The unique cutterhead “dial” also allows an operator to manually open and close the cutterhead to check for blade alignment during set-up. Another important feature is its Windows-based PC which uses Artos’ standard Graphical User Interface. This interface is common to all of Artos’ Servo Driven Wire Processing Systems, including the popular CS-326, STX and MTX. Common programming allows companies to train operators once, saving time and increasing employee efficiencies, by letting them easily operate all of Artos’ equipment and share wire programs in a single network.

The CS-327 offers full programming of all wire settings including wire length, strip diameter, strip length, feed rates, and more. Depending on the application, a programmable outfeed guide can be moved in or out to help efficiently process wire. The outfeed drive unit also features a programmable “gap setting” which allows the processed wire to travel through the machine without damage.

“Artos Engineering has always been known for leading the market with robust, servo-driven processors,” says John Olsen II, president of Artos Engineering. “Without question, the CS-327 is the strongest machine on the market for processing such a wide range of heavy-duty wire and cable.”

To provide customers with maximum flexibility, Artos also offers several optional configurations to the CS-327 including a one- or two-axis wire straightener, additional wire guide kits, an integrated inkjet system located within the machine to reduce unnecessary wire waste, and a wire slitting device to axially slit wire. Heavy duty wire prefeeding and collection options are also available to provide a complete production system.
