Artos Engineering Company, a Waukesha-based manufacturer of wire processing equipment, introduces the Air-Matic™ Series of pneumatic feed applicators. This family of crimping applicators features the SmoothFeed™ pneumatic feed system – a system that provides a more consistent and smoother feed of the terminal resulting in fewer mis-feeds than comparable mechanical units.
The Air-Matic Series is compatible with most “quick-die” style presses and, when coupled with the Artos Crimpamatic 963 Benchtop Crimping Unit, creates one of the most versatile, powerful, and affordable benchtop workstations in the industry today.
Several standard features make the Air-Matic Series an ideal solution in fully automatic processing. Mis-feeds are greatly reduced since terminal feeding is done after the crimp cycle when there are no obstructions. Since the Air-Matic applicator does not rely on the press ram to feed, the press does not have to be slowed down to feed smaller and more difficult terminals thereby allowing maximum machine output. Crimp forcemonitor systems are also maximized by eliminating force “noise” caused from feeding cams found on mechanical applicators.
The innovative design allows for easy changing of tooling and anvils. The setting of the feeding stroke and pick-up location is easily adjusted by setting the thumb nuts on the linear slide. In addition, the unit includes a cycle counter for preventative maintenance.
The Air-Matic has been engineered to process wires 28-10 AWG (0.08-6.0mm2).Models are available for different terminal feed direction (950 for L-R, 951 for R-L, and 952 for end feed).
